re:collected

My reaction to a Bookwork project.
These individually constructed pieces explore my life as it was lived and how I presently recollect it, based on my reaction to the family album.
The works explore the boundaries of a book as a physical object, creating a narrative that manages to maintain its strength both in the individual pages and as a fluid whole.

The separation of the pages mirrors the photographs within an album, they can stand by themselves or connect to form a greater story. Each piece is made of mixed media and all are placed together in an envelope which sits inside a secret panel at the back of a hand-constructed photo-frame to imply the notion of locked away memories.
